Destination Wedding Photographer in Provence & the French Riviera

Provence and the Riviera have a way of making a wedding feel like a story already. Late golden light over the vineyards, stone bastides, cypress alleys, villas above the sea. For eighteen years I have photographed weddings here, many of them for couples who flew in from London, New York, Sydney or Stockholm with their families and friends.

Why get married in the South of France

The light is the first reason. From May to October, evenings stay warm and the sun sets late, which gives long, soft golden hours for portraits. Then there is the variety: a château facing Mont Sainte-Victoire, a wine estate in Bandol, a bastide in the Luberon, a villa on the Riviera coast. Within two hours you can choose between vineyards, lavender country, hills and sea.

Planning your wedding from abroad

Most of my destination couples organise everything remotely, and it works well. We start with a video call to talk about your plans, your venue and what matters to you. A month before the wedding, we go through the timeline together. I know many venues in the region, I understand how the light behaves in each of them, and I can recommend planners, florists and other suppliers I trust. For peak season Saturdays from May to September, I recommend booking twelve to eighteen months ahead.

Where I photograph weddings

  • Var: Toulon, Bandol, Hyères, Saint-Tropez and the surrounding wine estates
  • Bouches-du-Rhône: Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, Cassis and the châteaux around Sainte-Victoire
  • Vaucluse and the Luberon: bastides, mas and hilltop villages
  • Alpes-Maritimes: Nice, Cannes, Antibes and the hills behind the Riviera
  • Italy and elsewhere in Europe, on request

A weekend, not just a day

Destination weddings often stretch over several days, and some of the best moments happen around the wedding itself: the welcome dinner, the morning after, a quiet walk through the vines. I offer coverage for these moments too.
